Events Guide Submission

Do you have an event that deserves free widespread publicity?

The Rhode Island Tourism Division is accepting submission for events taking place in Rhode Island for inclusion in the Official Tourism Guides published annually. With circulation of more than 300,000, this free listing insures visibility for your event and organization.

In addition, event listings will be included on the official State Tourism web site VisitRhodeIsland.com, which receives an average 5 million hits a month.

Guidelines for Submitting Events

What events are eligible for calendar submission?
The Rhode Island Tourism Division considers an eligible "event" to be: a theatrical or musical performance, public show or exhibit, festival, sporting event, or other form of entertainment or recreation which may be of interest to a large number of people visiting or living in Rhode Island. "Events" must have finite dates and be open to the public.

How does the submission process work?
After the submission form is completed it is sent to a staff member for determination of eligibility, as listed above. Once the details are approved, the Calendar Editor posts the listing to the online calendar at www.visitrhodeisland.com. The Tourism Division reserves the right to edit or refuse publication of submitted events. Listings will typically post within three business days. To alter or rescind a previously submitted event please contact our Publications and Database Specialist.

Submission Deadlines

Events are accepted on a rolling admission basis. Use the chart below to determine when your event information should reach us to insure inclusion into the appropriate events guide. If you would like your event to be considered for the 2009 Travel Guide, please have the dates and information sent to the office by October 31, 2008. Events happening between March 2009 and February 2010 will be considered.
