Her helm has beckoned many of the top sailors in America and her crew positions have been manned by some of the most talented. Now she has returned to the waters off Newport, Rhode Island, to continue the fine traditions of the sport with other cup defenders including Columbia, Weatherly, and Intrepid. |
![]() STATE MINERAL: Bowenite is a close relative of Jade and can be considered a semi-precious gem stone. It is found in northern Rhode Island and was discovered in the early 1800s by Rhode Island geologist George Bowen. |
