The American Civil Liberties Foundation of RI & Providence Public Library present a screening of the award-winning film FRUITVALE STATION. Based on a true story, the film chronicles the last day in the life of Oscar Grant, a young black man, who was shot and killed by a transit police officer on New Year's Day 2009. Join us for the film and a brief discussion.

Award-winning director Ryan Coogler's FRUITVALE STATION follows the true story of Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan), a 22-year-old Bay Area resident. Oscar's life and tragic death would shake the Bay Area - and the entire nation - to its very core.
