Action Speaks: 1992 First Critical Mass Ride
AS220 Performance Space
October 10, 2012
5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Bicyclists take to the streets en mass in a fight over the right to the city. The revolution may no longer take place first in the factories, but as Seattle anti-NAFTA Demonstrations and Occupy Wall Street has shown, might be in the streets, and to the anger of many, in traffic.
Action Speaks looks at contemporary issues through the lens of history by using unde-rappreciated moments of the twentieth-century, and provides a venue for fellow citizens to engage in thoughtful discussions about history, culture, and current events.
This year Action Speaks looks at moments when the rights of the individual have clashed with the needs or beliefs of the public and where the line between private and public has been defined or blurred.
