Artist Studio Public Work Sessions
March 24, 2013
Sunday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Artist in Residence Nora Rabins, together with neighbors, are busily preparing some colorful new sails for the windmill to be hoisted this May. The large-sale design, derived from a pattern on grinding-stones inside the mill, will be visible from afar. Up close, hand printed graphics will be recognizable as motifs of personal, local and historical relevance. In the fashion of sewing circles and quilting bees, members of the community are encouraged to help make the sails. Be a part the making-process by helping to dye, print, and sew the windmill sails at monthly Studio Work-Sessions. All ages and skill levels welcome. Please visit WindmillSails.com for information and updates.
