First planting of Pinot Noir vines in 1976 and now cultivate ten acres of this classic French grape. The first vintage released was the 1983 Pinot Noir, grown at Diamond Hill with special attention to proper yield and vinified in the French tradition using new French oak barrels for aging. Because fine Pinot Noir requires this long aging, they decided to explore the potential of making other wines from New England with fruits such as apples, blueberries and peaches to name a few. Diamond Hill has been commended for its Cranberry Apple, Blueberry, Peach, Raspberry, and Pinot Noir Blanc wines as well as its latest vintage of Pinot Noir.
