Former Portsmouth Christian Union Church. Museum has a collection of early household conveniences, farm implements, etc. Julia Ward Howe and other notables preached here. Monument on grounds marks site of initial skirmish, Battle of Rhode Island, August 9, 1778. The Southermost Schoolhouse is the oldest school house in Rhode Island, built in 1725.
