Providence's National Park interprets the life and times of Roger Wiliiams, the founder of the first English colony with complete religious freedom for all. Visitor Center, exhibits and video. Original Providence Settlement (1636) was here. 4.5 acres of landscaped grounds provides a setting for contemplation of Roger William's contributions to the principles of religious freedom and tolerance in America.
