Virtually unaltered since its dedication in 1763, Touro Synagogue is the oldest standing Jewish house of worship in the United States and is considered to be one of the ten most architecturally distinguished buildings of 18th Century America. As a National Historic Site and an international symbol of religious freedom, Touro Synagogue and the Loeb Visitors Center, with its two floors of exhibits, are must-see destinations on any visit to Newport.
