The NMAI focuses on illustration artworks created for reproduction in books, periodicals, and other print media. The museum's collection is exhibited in the historic Gilded Age mansion Vernon Court, design by the noted Beaux-Arts architects Carrere and Hastings. Featured artists include: Norman Rockwell, Maxfield Parrish, Howard Pyle, JC Leyendecker, NC Wyeth, and over 150 others. Open year-round Fridays from 2pm-5pm with a guided tour at 3pm sharp. From Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, open Friday through Sunday, 11am to 5pm with guided tour Fridays at 3pm sharp. Open all other time for group and VIP tours by advance reservation.
