Former summer home of American author Rev. Dr. Edward Everett Hale (1822-1909) and his family of artists and writers. Second Empire-Style home was built in 1873 and was anchor for Matunuck summer art colony of the late 19th and early 10th centuries. Period rooms restored to 1890's appearance. Art gallery and cultural programs.
