In the 2010-2011, our 33rd season, FBP will be performing fall and spring programs at the Veteran's Memorial Auditorium, a holiday season of The Nutcracker at Providence Performing Arts Center, and our cherished Up Close On Hope and ChatterBox programs at our black box theater on Hope Street. Beginning this season, all main stage productions will now be performed with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, a thrilling collaboration. Festival is also finding greater opportunities in the RI community through our Outreach Program, which includes our successful Discover Dance series for RI public school children, our Healing through the Arts involvement, and our Adaptive Dance program for teaching children with Down Syndrome. As a strong member of the Providence and greater Rhode Island arts community, Festival is looking forward to greater growth and touring opportunities in coming years. Festival Ballet Providence is recognized by several national dance magazines as one of the top regional ballett companies in the country; the dance repertoire has signifiant depth, complexity and diversity. Every season, FBP offers audiences a wide variety of world class dance by presenting World and Rhode Island Premieres, commissioning new ballets, and soliciting ballet's renowned Trusts in order to perform some of the most celebrated ballets. Located at 825 Hope Street, the Festival Ballet Providence main studios are home to both the professional company and the Center for Dance Education, RI's premier dance and ballet school, where huindreds of students come to study with out internationally acclaimed faculty every year. Fall 2010 will also mark the opening of two satellite school locations, one in Rumford and one in East Greenwhich.
