Christopher Ferris - Executive Chef
A lifelong Newport resident, Chef Chris Ferris has an instinct for authentic and delicious New England cuisine.
After graduating from Rogers High School Culinary Arts Program, Chris immediately enrolled in Johnson and Wales University. There, he fully honed his array of culinary talents, focusing on menu planning, staff management and specialized sauces.
Upon graduation, Chris excelled in many restaurants, including Café Zelda, Country Cuisine, and The Mooring. At each restaurant, he led his teams in both creative menu development and staff training.
Today, as Executive Chef of the Smokehouse Café, Chris prepares traditional comfort dishes with flair, making it Newport's favorite BBQ restaurant.
