Chef Richard Silvia has been with the White Horse Tavern since 2009. He comes with an array of experiences relating mostly to fine dining. A graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence RI, Chef Silvia holds a masters degree in culinary education and a bachelors of science in culinary arts. Prior to working at the White Horse Tavern, Chef Silvia has held positions as executive chef at the prestigious Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, RI, The 4 diamond rated former Vanderbilt Hall Hotel (now Vanderbilt Grace) in Newport RI, as well as the opening consulting chef for Bravo Brassiere in Providence. Chef Silvia had Also held the position of Executive Sous Chef/Culinary Instructor for The Johnson & Wales owned Radisson Airport Hotel. His culinary style reflects local cuisine tied into his New England, Portuguese, and Italian roots. He lives in Warwick with his wife, Amanda and their two boys, Brendon and Parker.
