Charter Books in partnership with the Newport Historical Society is honored to host author Molly Beer during the 2025 French in Newport living history weekend to discuss her new book, “Angelica: For Love and Country in a Time of Revolution”, offering a new perspective of the American Revolution told through the life of Angelica Schuyler Church, Alexander Hamilton’s influential sister-in-law.
In this enthralling and revealing woman’s-eye view of a revolutionary era, Molly Beer breathes vibrant new life into a period of history usually dominated by masculine themes and often dulled by perceived familiarity. In telling Angelica’s story, Beer illuminates how American women have always utilized their social influence and networks for political ends, including the making of a new nation.”
This event is in partnership with the Newport Historical Society for their French in Newport program and is free and open to all. We encourage you to RSVP and share with your friends.
