Providence’s annual holiday tradition takes place over two days and features a wealth of activities for all to enjoy.
Head to Providence City Hall on Friday, Nov. 30, for the annual tree lighting with Mayor Jorge Elorza. Live performances, special giveaways and an artist marketplace are sure to get you in the holiday spirit. The city will light the 35–45 foot tree on City Hall's steps at 6 p.m. A festive Winter Lights Market takes place in Burnside Park.
On Saturday, Dec. 1, the Winter Lights Market starts at 2 p.m., and the much-anticipated tree lighting at the Alex and Ani City Center will take place at 6 p.m. Enjoy a night of championship figure skating, featuring local, national, world and Olympic stars! The 60-minute skating extravaganza, produced by Sarah DiNardo and Brad Vigorito, will feature 2018 Olympic Bronze Medalist Mirai Nagasu and 2006 World Champion Kimmie Meissner.
There is no charge for admission to the show, but audience members are invited to bring a new toy to donate to Toys for Tots. Collection bins will be available.
