For more than two generations, the Cranston Greek Festival has been held the on the church grounds, the weekend after Labor Day. The Festival marks the “Official End of Summer in Rhode Island™”. More than 25,000 people will visit the Cranston Greek Festival over the course of this fabulous three-day event of Food, Fun, Greek Dancing and Culture. The Festival will be held under “Big Tents," rain or shine.
Greek Food: Guests may sample a wide variety of Greek food including roast lamb, Greek-style chicken, souvlaki, pastitsio, spanakopita (“spinach pie”), tiropita (“cheese pie”), and Rhode Island’s best gyros. The pastry booth will feature hand-made Greek pastries, including the best Baklava and Rice Pudding. Our pastry selection also includes galaktoboureko, kourabiedes, koulourakia, diples, and melomakarona. Our “loukoumades” is the Greek version of fried dough, and is served with honey and cinnamon. We recommend that you enjoy your Greek pastries with authentic Greek coffee, or a “Greek Frappe” (iced coffee).
Entertainment & Culture: The Annunciation Parish’s own Odyssey Dance Troupe will perform traditional Greek Dances at 7:00 pm on Friday night, and 4:00 pm and 7:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Odyssey Dance Troupe performances feature dances from mainland Greece and the Greek Islands. Live Greek music will be performed continuously throughout the 3-Day Cranston Greek Festival. Please visit our website and Facebook page for the complete schedule of entertainment, religious services, and cultural presentations.
