This 1.5 mile tour created by native Rhode Islander and published Poe scholar, Levi L. Leland, will guide you to the sites associated with Edgar Allan Poe's courtship with the city's own eccentric poetess, Sarah Helen Whitman.
The tour begins and concludes on the sidewalk outside of 88 Benefit Street (the red house on the corner of Church Street and Benefit Street). Parking is usually easy and widely available along Benefit Street.
Come learn about one of the world's most prolific writers and his ties to our own beloved city of Providence!
