We can’t guarantee 76 trombones or 110 cornets, but if you love the traditions of a simpler time, don’t miss the annual Block Island July 4 parade - THIS YEAR ON JULY 5th - starting at 11:30 am from Veterans Park, Across from the Oar. Come early and take your place along the parade route so you can watch the floats, bands, families, and kids marching in formation across the island.
The theme for the 2021 Parade is "Celebrate America". It’s a theme that could encompass everything from historic events, American ingenuity and innovation, sports, music, movies, what-have you,” said the members of the Committee. “We hope that everyone will put on their thinking caps and come up with some really fun floats.”
The parade route starts at the Oar and ends at the Statue of Rebecca in Old Harbor. If you would like to enter a float in the parade, you can! Just show up at the Oar parking lot between 9:30 and 10:30am to get registered.
