The Block Island Film Festival is scheduled for May 31 to June 2 at the Block Island Maritime Institute in New Harbor near the Great Salt Pond on Block Island. Masks are recommended, but not required, for attendees of the event. *NOTE: SCHEDULE COULD BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
The Block Island Film Festival will feature the Spotlight Film “Bound by Blue,” a documentary film directed by Katherine Reaves, and produced by Susan Bush and Laura Parsons, in tribute to Edith Blane.
*There are 5 categories of the filmmaker competition at the Block Island Film Festival: student short films, short films, short documentaries, feature films and feature screenplays.
Forums will be hosted by award-winning actor/producers: Henry LeBlanc (American Horror Stories, Perry Mason) & Kristin Carey (The Greatest Beer Run, Hall Pass).
*Note: All times are east coast time. All screenings are held at the Block Island Maritime Institute in New Harbor.
Filmmaker Q&A panels begin immediately following each screening.
Awards will be selected by the film festival’s judges.
Attendees are encouraged to express their thoughts and ask/submit questions about a film during the filmmaker Q&A panels.
