The Borromeo String Quartet will be performing at St. Michael’s Church on Sat. Oct. 26, 7:30 p.m, their first appearance in Bristol with the Community Concert Series @ St. Michael’s. The quartet is the faculty ensemble-in-residence at the New England Conservatory in Boston and is celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. Admired and sought after for both its fresh interpretations of the classical music canon and its championing of works by 20th and 21st century composers, they have performed throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Cathy Fuller, host of Classical New England on WGBH radio says, "They're champions of new music...but they also thrive on making the old classics sound vital and fresh.” They have been described as “simply the best there is” by the Boston Globe.
