Champion Tree Walkwith Dan Daley, Blithewold’s Assistant Grounds Manager

Blithewold’s assistant grounds manager Dan Daley will lead attendees on a tour through the grounds identifying and discussing Blithewold’s Rhode Island Champion trees. He will tell us the age of each tree, and share the historical significance of the tree. He will include the growth habit, bark type, soil, and drought tolerance, disease and pest issues of each tree. Visitors will be given an informational handout prior to the walk and are encouraged to ask questions. Each visitor will leave this class with general knowledge of the champion trees here at Blithewold and will be inspired by each tree’s majestic beauty. This is a walking tour across the entire property so please dress and plan accordingly.

Each class is limited to 25 people.
