Christmas at Blithewold

Every year, Blithewold transforms into a dazzling display celebrating the magic of Christmas. Each room of the Mansion is filled with elaborate holiday decorations, and the gardens become a glimmering winter wonderland!

Using archival materials for inspiration, Blithewold’s decorators volunteer their time and talents to develop a new theme each Christmas that explores the interests of the Van Wickle family during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This year, our theme is called “A Family Gathering”. Diary entries give us a glimpse into the family’s Christmas and New Year traditions allowing us to recreate the Christmas weekend at Blithewold in 1910.
