Join us to start your holiday festivities with Smith’s Castle’s Annual Christmas at the Castle. For two days, December 1st and 2nd, 12:00 - 4:00 pm, the Castle will be decorated and alight with Yuletide cheer. This year you are invited to meet some of the historical ladies from Smith’s Castle’s past. They will be represented by a display of dolls carefully researched and created in 1960 by Mrs. Emily Green, Miss Mary Whitlock, and Miss Anna Yost, as well as by modern interpreters who will tell you some of their stories. Costumed docents will also be available to guide you through the house and answer your questions.
On Saturday our entertainment will include the always popular Beacon Pole Hill DAR Chapter Dulcimer Players and the Brown University Madrigal Singers. On Sunday we will be enjoying Updyke Rose, the St. Luke’s Bell Choir and Sheila Reynolds on the guitar. On both days Father Christmas will be in attendance and Mrs. Claus will entertain with music and stories for the children. Children’s craft activities, cookie decorating, and face painting will be available as well as complimentary mulled cider and cookies. For the shoppers among us, there will be vendors, a Bake Sale featuring home-made treats and a Holiday White Elephant Sale featuring wreaths and vintage Christmas decorations.
Smith's Castle, located at 55 Richard Smith Drive, North Kingstown, is a non-profit 501(c)3 status National Historical Site maintained through generous community support.
