Design Week RI 2024

For the past 11 years, DESIGNxRI has organized an annual celebration of design in Rhode Island known as DESIGN WEEK RI. This eagerly anticipated week-long event highlights the state's diverse design and creative businesses, showcasing both emerging talents and established industry leaders. It provides a unique platform for designers to exhibit their work, share their stories, and connect with Rhode Island's vibrant creative ecosystem. This year  features hosts from every county in Rhode Island, making it the most geographically inclusive edition to date.

Amidst a vibrant array of presentations, tours and events from local RI designers, DESIGNxRI with the support of RISD, are excited to announce that the visual artist, Cey Adams who, helped to define the visual language of hip-hop culture as the founding creative director of Def Jam Recordings will be featured as the keynote speaker on September 17th, Tuesday. DESIGN WEEK RI aims to not only highlight RI as a hot-bed of innovative designers but also to bring together the design community to be inspired by world recognized talent.  

SEPT 13TH: DESIGN WEEK RI 2024 KICKOFF PARTY @ Moniker Brewery 5-8PM
Join us to celebrate the start of DESIGN WEEK RI with a fantastic Kickoff Party at Moniker Brewery in Providence, RI! Meet other designers and creatives, catch the reveal of the DESIGN WEEK RI 2024 Beer Can design, and pick up your DESIGN WEEK RI brochure! Year after year, the Kickoff Party is one of the most popular DESIGN WEEK RI events, and it’s free to attend. Make sure you don’t miss out on the fun!

SEPT 14TH-15TH: OPEN STUDIOS WEEKEND
DESIGN WEEK RI 2024 will include two days of open studios across the state, spotlighting local designers and connecting Rhode Island’s creative community.

- Saturday, Sept. 14th will feature Open Studios in North Rhode Island (including but not limited to: Providence, East Providence, Rumford, Cranston, Warwick, Pawtucket, Central Falls, Cumberland, Lincoln, Foster, and Smithfield). 

- Sunday, Sept. 15th will feature Open Studios in South Rhode Island (including but not limited to: Newport, Warren, Bristol, Westerly, and East Greenwich).

SEPT 16TH-20TH: WEEKDAY EVENTS
Each year, DESIGN WEEK RI offers talks, tours, panel discussions, parties, and more that showcase the design talent across Rhode Island – featuring and hosted by our many partners and design friends. Be part of this annual celebration of design in Rhode Island and host an event this September 16-20.

ALL FIELDS AND AREAS OF DESIGN ARE WELCOME! Your event can be in-person, virtual or hybrid — indoors or outdooors!

Meet us in the park to celebrate! DESIGN WEEK RI, RI Fashion Week, and RI Startup Week collide with music, food trucks, and a runway show! Connect with fellow innovators, fashion enthusiasts, and startup trailblazers in a celebration of creativity, style, and entrepreneurship!
