Rhode Island’s population was reshaped by the Industrial Revolution, as people from around the world arrived in search of opportunity. The Lippitt household and Lippitt-owned businesses offer a vivid lens into this era, reflecting both the promise and challenges of life in a rapidly industrializing state.
Join genealogist Heather Pouliot Kisilywicz for an engaging talk that explores the stories of those who came before us. Inspired by the 19th-century Lippitt household, this program commemorates the everyday Rhode Islanders who have shaped the state’s history over the past 250 years.
Participants will gain practical tools and strategies to begin tracing their own family’s journey and uncover clues about their ancestors’ path to the Ocean State—no matter when they arrived.
Presented by Lippitt House Museum and the Lifelong Learning Collaborative.
