Education meets entertainment at the South County Museum’s Fall Family Day, September 25th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This event offers a day of fun activities the whole family can enjoy.
Come enjoy lawn games and autumn arts and crafts, while the jaunty tunes of a mini music festival fill the campus. The South County Jammers and other musical groups will play an Old Time Jam Session of traditional fiddle songs.
You can also enjoy the museum’s 35th Annual Folk Art Quilt Show exhibit and discover traditional patterns alongside the newest trends of modern expression. In addition to handmade local quilts, the Metz Exhibit Hall will showcase the museum’s textile collection, which ranges from the 1790s and onward.
Budding scientists and nature lovers of all ages will enjoy programming from the museum’s partnership with a local nature nonprofit. At 1pm, Dr. David Gregg, the Executive Director of the Rhode Island Natural History Survey, will give a video presentation followed by a “walk and talk” discussion on local invasive species.
