Let us introduce you to Providence, a city that’s overflowing with amazing art and artists! Gallery Night is an evening of free and open access to galleries, museums, and art spaces throughout the Creative Capital.
Gallery Night happens on the Third Thursday of every month from March through November, rain or shine. It’s easy to participate—you can come on a free guided tour that evening, or explore the galleries on your own!
Free guided trolley, mini coach, and walking tours are led by our enthusiastic and experienced Guides. Tours leave at various times from 5 pm to 7 pm. Each tour visits 3 to 4 different art spaces and runs about 2 hours in length. Our hub at the Graduate Hotel in downtown Providence serves as the main access point for our trolley and walking tours. This season, each Gallery Night we also offer one tour that leaves from the WaterFire Arts Center on Valley Street. You can also make your own tour by visiting whichever participating galleries you choose.
We post the information about our guided tours (where they leave from, which galleries they will be visiting, etc.) two weeks before each Gallery Night, on the Upcoming Events page of our website. We post ideas for self-guided tours, if you want to explore on your own, one week before, on our Make Your Own Tour page.
FREE! Gallery Night is free and open to the public. All gallery receptions at participating locations are free. Our guided tours are free for anyone who walks up the night off. If you’d like to reserve a spot on the tour of your choice ahead of time, we ask for a $1 donation for the convenience of guaranteeing your spot.
