Director Emeritus, Master Gardener and expert on colonial plant uses, Margaret O’Connor, will guide visitors through the Gilbert Stuart Birthplace’s colonial dooryard garden. Surrounded by herbs and flowers, you will learn about the myriad ways that plants, herbs flowers and roots made colonial life better. From refreshing tonics to clothing dye and from flavoring food to treating ailments, the colonial garden was a full of delights!
A talk with a full, traditional high tea, where you can enjoy the sweet and soothing uses for many of these plants and herbs with the decadent delicacy of a tea party!
