Just like in the old days, Movies on the Block will take place at Grant’s Block–on the corner of Westminster and Union streets–in downtown Providence, RI, once a month from June 2025 through September 2025.
Screenings will take place at dusk on the third Thursday of each month (so save the dates and tell your friends):

🎞 “Mermaids” on July 24
🎞 “Clue” on Aug. 28
🎞 “The Wizard of Oz” on Sept. 25
As a special part of the program, we're working with some of your favorite downtown restaurants to offer curated, limited-time-only to-go food concessions for movie goers to enjoy during the show.
Debuting in 2008, Movies on the Block was the city's first outdoor film series. The 2025 return of the series will honor the original format you all loved so much, with free films sponsored by InDowncity, the downtown small business community, and Cornish Associates.
No tickets are required, and attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or beach chair as seating will not be provided. We can't wait to see you downtown again, PVD!
