Napatree Point Oyster Catchers with the Naturalist
Napatree Point, a mile-long ribbon of sand and dune, runs west from Watch Hill towards Fisher’s Island. At the turn of the century the spit was home to Ft. Mansfield, an installation of large naval guns; in 1938 dozens of homes were destroyed in the great hurricane. Today “Naps” is a conversation area and a wonderful place to see shore birds, including American Oyster Catchers. Join us on a historical 3-hour tour of this remarkable site.
Please note, tickets purchased for this event are non-refundable unless the event is canceled due to inclement weather. Weekapaug Inn reserves the right to cancel or postpone water events and outings, at its sole discretion, due to weather conditions and other hazards.
