Nature Drawing at Blithewold

The Nature Drawing Class is an opportunity to look to Blithewold’s gardens for inspiration. Working from pictures and natural objects, the class will focus on rendering color, texture, and design in flora and landscape. Different topics, tools, and techniques are covered each week. The primary medium will be colored pencils. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced students are encouraged to attend. Materials will be included.

Preregistration is required. Each class is limited to 15 people.

April 6 – Drawing Daffodils in Colored Pencil and Chalk
April 20 – Background Choice for Flowers and Landscape
April 27 – Colored Pencil for Tulips and Iris

May 4 – Colored Chalk Pencils in Landscape
May 11 – Form and Shadow in Trees
May 18 – Composition, Scale and Negative Shapes
May 25 – Assorted Flowers in Pencil with Accent Paint

June 8 – Blithewold Garden Blossoms
June 15 – Seascapes – Colored Pencil and Chalk
June 22 – Selections of the Japanese Water Garden
June 29 – Plein Air Drawing on Front Lawn & Rose Garden
