Paddle the Blackstone
- 50 Tim Healey Way, Pawtucket, 02860
- Blackstone Valley
- September 15, 2024
All are welcome to join us on the last four miles of a 4-day, 60 mile expedition down the Blackstone River raising awareness about the opportunities to steward, restore, and improve access to the River, also known as Kittacuck (Nipmuc) and Mishkittakooksepe (Narragansett). 34 spots are available for free canoe rentals, generously provided by Friends of the Blackstone. Paddlers are also welcome to bring your own watercraft, though registration is required for all paddlers for insurance coverage.
We'll travel from Pawtucket's Festival Pier and go four miles downstream to Gano Park in Providence. Due to this trip being one-way, some coordination is required for those brining their own boats. The paddle will kick off by 1:30pm and arrive by 3:30pm, with a free celebration following the event at Narragansett Brewing (of-age paddlers also receive a free drink ticket and apps!).
We look forward to getting on the water with you and helping you explore the under-appreciated gem that is the Blackstone River!
