Pop art and cat inspired work. Popular culture is one of my many inspirations. As a cat person, I am also inspired by my two furbabies. I love mixing art and craft supplies together in works of art. I wish to pass on techniques I have developed to create a mixed media piece. Students will also learn a bit about color theory and color mixing.
Students will need to bring their own supplies: drawing supplies of choice, prepared canvas or paper to work on (8x10 - 11x14), a small palette or dinner sized paper plate, a small cup for water, choice of brushes, palette knife, and acrylic or tempera paint. Suggested paint colors: true red like a cadmium red, true blue like ultramarine blue, phthalo or turquoise blue, a true yellow like cadmium or lemon yellow, violet of your choice, white, a dark brown, and black. Students can bring a picture of a cat that they are inspired by.
