About the event: Rhode Island's 11th Annual Esophageal Cancer Walk/Run is hosted by The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity working to raise awareness, encourage early detection and to fund research of esophageal cancer...in hopes of a cure.™
In 2015, The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation was able to award esophageal cancer research funding for the very first time. Then in November, 2018, The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation awarded esophageal cancer research funding for the second time!
The Salgi Esophageal Cancer Research Foundation has also raised national AND international awareness since 2011. Your continued support directly impacts and sustains this mission!
The path at Warwick City Park is approximately three miles and guests are encouraged to walk or run at their own pace as the event is a walk/run and not a timed race.
Guests must adhere to all current Rhode Island COVID-19 guidelines issued by the State of Rhode Island.
Due to the uncertainty surrounding the current COVID-19 pandemic, the event may be cancelled. In the event of a cancellation, no refunds will be issued. If the event is cancelled and if registered for a t-shirt, an email with instructions on how to pick up the t-shirt will be sent. T-shirts will not be mailed.
The former address at Warwick City Park was: Asylum Road, Warwick, RI. The new address is Steven O'Connor Blvd., Warwick, RI.
Registration begins at 8 AM EST, walk/run to follow at 9 AM EST.
Ready to make an even bigger impact? When you register for the event, you will be asked if you'd like to create your own fundraising page. This is a great way to help raise more awareness of esophageal cancer and funding for this life-saving mission.
