RI Guardians Black History Month Gala and Dinner Dance

The Rhode Island Guardians Association (RIGA) wishes to invite you to attend a dinner dance on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Cape Verdean Progressive Center, 329 Grosvenor Avenue, East Providence, RI, from 5:00 PM until 12:00 AM (cocktail hour from 5:00-6:00).
This fundraiser, themed "Rhode Island Guardians Black History Month Benefit Gala Dinner Dance", will include dinner and an R&B band (MOGA Band). Brief opening remarks by Mayor Bob DaSilva (East Providence) and Dan Corria (CV Club President).
A special keynote address will be presented by RI Historian Keith Stokes, who will conduct an educational and historical presentation about "Rhode Island's Black History."
Tickets to attend this event are set at $50.00 per person, with reserved tables for six (6) priced at $275.00, and may be purchased online at www.riguardians.org (events tab) or by contacting the Rhode Island Guardians Association at 401-548-1333.
Awards honoring those individuals who, through their efforts and achievements, have epitomized the concepts that our organization has stood for since its inception, will be presented to:

Ibn-Hashim Bacari – 2026 Community Policing Award
Keith Stokes – 2026 Community Service Award (Keynote Speaker)
George Bolden – 2026 Children of Courage Scholarship AwardÂ
