RIMRA is a model rocketry club affiliated with the National Association of Rocketry (NAR # 755). Founded in 2013, the club brings together rocketeers from all of the Southeastern New England area. Our club is composed of model rocket enthusiasts living throughout the southeast New England area and beyond. Members range in age and skill level from novice to very experienced, and come from all walks of life to share their common love and excitement for amateur rocketry. Observers are welcome to watch for free!
Our launch site is adjacent to the University of Rhode Island campus, with launches held monthly on the second Saturday, with Sunday reserved as a rain date. The field is owned by URI and operated by a private farmer (see Launch Site http://www.rimra.org/launch-site/). As weather and field conditions are unpredictable, please check our website (https://www.rimra.org/) and/or Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/rimra755) for updates to our launch schedule Friday before a scheduled launch. Launches are open to anyone who wants to build and fly model rockets, or simply watch and enjoy the wide variety of rockets being launched.
