June 6 - July 19, 2018 Open Wednesday through Sunday 12:00-6:00pm
This picturesque state has often been depicted by various fine artists, many of whom are represented by Gallery Z. Works ranging from recognizable city views, period architecture and spontaneously captured streetscapes, to Rhode Island’s evocative seacoast studded with boat-filled harbors, tucked-away coves and inlets, and winding countryside vistas chronicled in familiar landscapes, this smallest state looms large through the eyes of painters and photographers.
June’s featured artist is Ruth Clegg, an award-winning artist and photographer with over thirty years of experience in art, design, education and travel. After receiving a BFA from the University of Rhode Island, Ruth traveled extensively, before founding Angell Photography in 1985. In 2001, she expanded her studio into an art gallery. She is a member of the Professional Photographers Association of Rhode Island, New England and America, and of the Providence Art Club. Ruth works in various other mediums as well, and has exhibited nationally and internationally.
There will also be works on display from a number of other local artists depicting Rhode Island scenes, including William Daby, David DeMelim, Angelo Marinosci, Jr., Ian Mohon, Ewa Romaszewicz and Anthony Tomaselli.
