Enrich your child’s summer with a weeklong immersion into design and creative play. With special access to our exhibitions and collection, field trips to nearby sites, games that spark creativity, and challenging design projects, your child will cultivate new methods of looking at the world and communicating their ideas, all while having fun. Camp hours are 9am - 3pm. Two groups will be available for each listing below, for ages 7-10 and 11-13.

Museum Deep Dive JULY 1 - 5 (no camp July 4) This week, campers will see three different types of museums, and using inspiration from these field trips, design their own sculptures, book art, garden-inspired artwork, a product of their own, and their own closing showcase.
Innovation Station JULY 8 - 12 Sharpen your problem-solving skills this summer by learning how to see the world like a designer! This week, campers will create imaginative solutions to a variety of fun design challenges.
Avant Gardeners JULY 15 - 19 Continue a time-old tradition of creating artwork inspired by nature, gathering inspiration from our special exhibition “Avant Gardens” and the beautiful outdoor Newport scenery.
Press Play JULY 22 - 26 Craft your own narrative and design your own settings and characters in this week-long exploration into digital animation. Campers will learn animation and video editing basics and plan their own screening for the Friday reception.
Rewind JULY 29 - AUGUST 2 In this week-long exploration into retro artmaking processes, campers will discover the ingenuity of creatives from yesteryear.
Designing for Play AUGUST 5 - 9 Using games to jump-start our creativity, this week will focus on games and creative play. We will warm up with new and classic games, and work towards building our own analog arcade games from scrap.
Museport, RI AUGUST 12 - 16 Engage with Newport through creative explorations of this beautiful and historic city. Learn how to read a building’s architectural elements, unwind at the beach with en plein air drawing, and practice framing and capturing moments through a camera lens.
