Touro Synagogue, a National Historic Site and America's oldest synagogue (1763), will hold an open house on Sunday, February 16, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, as part of the 37th Annual Newport Winter Festival schedule of events.
Start your visit at the Loeb Visitors Center, where you can explore multi-media exhibits about Newport’s colonial Jewish community and the origins of religious freedom in the United States. Then, step inside Touro Synagogue, one of the most architecturally distinguished buildings of 18th-century America. Our knowledgeable guides will be on hand to answer questions and provide historic details.
