Undertow in the Park

Undertow Brass Band (FKA What Cheer? Brigade) is a 19-member brass ensemble born and raised here in Providence. Untethered to a stage, the band transforms public spaces into vibrant, joyful dance parties with audiences. This summer they are bringing their raucous live energy to their beloved home town.


The “Undertow in the Park” series features free, live shows in three neighborhood parks: Miguel Luna Memorial Park (Southside), Neutaconkanut Park (Silver Lake), and Billy Taylor Park (Mount Hope). Get ready to dance and join us for one – or all three! – performances. Undertow in the Park is part of the 2026 Ely Neighborhood Performing Arts series, produced by the Department of Art, Culture and Tourism (ACT) and the Providence Parks Department.
