ALL INVITED! On December 6th, the exciting evening begins at 6 pm in the Library’s Howard Silverman Gallery. Enjoy delicious sweet/savory hors d’oeuvres provided by some of East Greenwich’s finest restaurants and wine from The Savory Grape. Adding to the festive mood, there will be live music by harpist, Judith Mitchell. An evening highlight will be the announcement of the Juror’s Award, a solo 2019 gallery exhibit (artist’s option), 2nd and 3rd place awards, as well as B&H Framing's (Greenwich Gallery) Honorable Mention award.
Added Bonus: Saturday, December 15, 11 am - 1 pm – JUROR’S COFFEE AND CONVERSATION – all are invited to view the exhibit with the jurors and discuss the jurying process, including selection and installation. Past Juror Award Winners include: Lee Bergwall Hanks, Uli Brahmst, Marjorie Ball, Reed McLaren, Cathy Chin, Nina Ackmann, and Marilyn Saabye.
The exhibition will run Saturday, December 1 to Friday, December 28, 2018.
2018 JURORS – Marjorie Hellman received a BFA in Painting from RISD, where she was a member of the European Honors Program, did graduate work in Painting at Cranbrook Academy of Art, and earned an MFA at Syracuse University. In upstate NY, for over 25 years, Ms. Hellman taught studio art on the college level and juried numerous exhibitions. Artist residencies include Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and Byrdcliffe Art Colony, Woodstock, NY. She exhibits her work throughout the Northeast. http://www.marjoriehellman.com
Marsha Kartzman earned a BA from Connecticut College and an MA from Simmons College. In addition to many courses at MassArt, Ms. Kartzman studied sculpture at Bennington College, as well as monotypes with Gema Philips and Sumi-E with Judith Liniado. Residencies include a 2017 residency at The Studios at MassMoCA. She exhibits her work throughout New England. http://www.marshakartzman.com
