The Mohegan Cafe & Brewery began in 1992. Then Executive Chef, David Sniffen began as a home brewer. He expanded his knowledge of brewing beer to a commerical scale as the years grew trying different flavor profiles and seasonal ales. He sourced locals in the spring to try his new flavors to decide which were the favorits. Since then, Dave has left the kitchen, but remains on Block Island working for the Recreation Department. We are lucky that he still has time to brew the beer, all these years later.
When it comes to food, we had to really ask ourselves-tasty, hungover comfort food or light, summery healthy options? Traditional American fair, or fancy far- away cuisine?
The truth is, we want all of it depending on the day, mood and what time we had our first Bloody Mary today. There is something for everyone including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. We also offer daily specials
