Named after our first love, MOZZ combines our lifelong passion for the pursuit of the perfect mozzarella and the best artisanal products.
After making award-winning fior di latte & other southern Italian cheeses for many years, we realized we dearly missed some of our favorite meals from childhood in Italy. However, cooking them at home wasn't enough; we wanted to share them with our fellow cheese lovers and customers we met along the way.
And so, MOZZ was born in the heart of Newport, Rhode Island in 2022. Part cheesemaking facility, part Italian eatery, part specialty market, MOZZ aims to bring authentic Italian flavors to the New England coast. Our kitchen offers housemade pastas, pizza, panini and freshly baked pastries, rotating daily, to utilize the freshest ingredients all the while paying homage to our ancestors with recipes passed down from generations.
Offerings of our fresh made Southern Italian cheeses are still fundamental and include scamorza, stracciatella, primo sale and ricotta. Utilizing a sister farm in Napoli, Italy, we now make mozzarella di bufala in house fresh daily on location in beautiful seaside Newport. We are thrilled to share this unique offering with our guests
Specialty Italian grocery items, imported and local cheeses, and cured meats line the shelves of our market as well. Beyond the dining and retail offerings, MOZZ provides a cozy and intimate environment for educational workshops and private events.
Whether you’re visiting for a bite of our mouthwatering mozzarella, stocking your pantry with Italian ingredients, or dropping in for the pasta del giorno & espresso, we welcome you to enjoy the authentic Italian experience and hospitality the MOZZ way.
