Dining at The Carriage House at the Elms Mansion: The newly renovated dining space, located at the back of The Elms property, offers guests an elevated culinary experience surrounded by the mansion’s spectacular gardens and fountains. The bright, accessible venue serves New England classics and farm-to-table fare, providing both counter service and full table service options. The menu features appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta dishes and desserts, along with beer, wine and soft beverages. “The Carriage House has been transformed into a welcoming space where visitors can enjoy quality food while taking in the grand landscape of specimen trees, gardens and fountains,” according to The Preservation Society. The renovation makes the historic outbuilding fully accessible to all guests. The Carriage House is open daily through September 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last admission to the property at 4 p.m. Beginning in October, the venue will operate on weekends only. Access to The Carriage House is exclusive to visitors with a Newport Mansions tour ticket or Preservation Society membership.
