OUR STORY
Italian-American Gustaf Costanzo embarked on a journey that would shape a lasting legacy in Rhode Island. In 1909, he made a pivotal move by acquiring a pool and a liquor license from the city of Providence. His son, Anthony Sr., faced the challenges of prohibition and the Great Depression with ingenuity, creating an underground speakeasy to adapt to the times.

Fast forward to 1982, Phyllis and Tony Costanzo, recognizing the resurgence of pool in American culture, founded Rhode Island Billiard, Bar & Bistro. Anthony Costanzo Jr., navigating through economic hardships like recession, gas crunches, and the RI Banking Crisis, relocated the family business from Providence.

As the fourth-generation proprietor, Anthony Costanzo 3rd is committed to continuous improvement, enhancing the facility with new bars and an upgraded kitchen. Rhode Island Billiard, Bar & Bistro stands as the last true billiard and pool hall in the state, boasting a genuine 10-foot billiard table. Our extensive selection of beer and spirits, along with a daily menu, sets us apart from other establishments.

With over a century in business, pool in Rhode Island is now as commonplace as golf or baseball. Our venue provides a welcoming space to meet friends, make new connections, and cherish moments with old friends in a relaxed and safe atmosphere.
