To commemorate one of the first major events that led to the American Revolution, the 1765 Stamp Act protests, the Society will host a team of costumed interpreters to mark this historic event. Reenactors will stroll Newport's Old Quarter allowing visitors to glimpse life in the colonial city on the eve of the American Revolution. Visitors can chat with the interpreters to learn about the challenges residents once faced and the clash of loyalties that led to the protest.
