The Newport Art Museum is devoted to the art and artists of the Rhode Island region. Contemporary and historic works are featured in permanent collections and a triannual exhibition schedule. The Newport Art Museum was founded in 1912 and the flagship building is the National Historic Landmark John N.A. Griswold house, built in 1864 and designed by architect Richard Morris Hunt. Tours, gallery talks, concerts and other special events are also featured.
