A consortium of global filmmaking professionals gather to mingle with contemporaries in intimate public settings, such as film screenings, spotlight film programs, signature programs, tribute and award ceremonies, filmmaking forums, and nightly social mixers.
The Block Island Film Festival runs in mid June annually and is held in the historic downtown Water Street district near the Old Harbor waterfront. The Atlantic Ocean and the harbor are visible from venues during the Block Island Film Festival, which is a non-profit event designed to benefit the arts, education, student filmmakers and the Block Island community.
The film festival’s headquarters, and ticket office will be located on the porch at Ballard’s at the beach, one of the designated venues. Motion picture screenings, and forums will be held at Ballard’s, and at The National Hotel. Feature screenings will be held at Ballard’s, while short films will be screened at The National Hotel, which will also host “Coffee Time,” a question and answer forum with industry professionals and filmmakers each morning.
