Family Fun & Games
It's time to plan your spring getaway to Rhode Island. If your family has a bit of a competitive streak, you are going to love what Rhode Island has in store for your visit! Where to begin?
Providence
How about The Zachariah Conundrum? Book this outdoor scavenger hunt adventure through downtown Providence with Escape Rhode Island. While in the capital city, you can also check out Dave & Busters for loads of arcade games (and food) or take a 10-minute drive is Mulligan’s Island for mini-golf, batting cages, and more in Cranston. While in Providence, a visit to Roger Williams Park Zoo is really a must. You can go to Food Truck Fridays at the zoo’s Carousel Village or just take a stroll through the gorgeous park grounds. Here on a Saturday? Take the kids for Glow Skating at United Skates of America in East Providence. Grab great Mexican food in Providence at Xaco Taco or weiners at Olneyville New York System and if you're in the mood for fun snacks, stop at PVDonuts or Friskie Fries.
Blackstone Valley
Head north to Blackstone Valley, and have a unique breakfast experience at the Modern Diner, housed in a restored Sterling Streamliner from the late 1930s and the first diner in the country listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Their Custard French Toast was even featured on the Food Network. Once you’ve eaten, try an indoor escape room experience with Mystery Soup Escape Rooms in Pawtucket. Continue a bit farther north to Lincoln, where R1 Indoor Karting offers high‑speed electric karting on a European‑style indoor track along with a full arcade, axe‑throwing lanes, and Time Mission, a multiroom immersive challenge game that blends puzzles, physical tasks and timed competitions. Nearby, Battle Ground Z adds another layer of indoor action with paintball, archery tag and dodgeball in a large arena designed for group play. Afterward, you can refuel at local favorites such as A&W, the longest‑running carhop in Rhode Island, or stop at Harry’s Burger Bar, Laura’s Bar & Grill or Lincoln Creamery for something sweet.
